Masechaba Mposwa's late mother honoured with Special Official Provincial Funeral Category 2

Johannesburg - Seasoned broadcaster Masechaba Ndlovu née Mposwa's late mother will be laid to rest in a Special Provincial Official Funeral at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Dube, Soweto, tomorrow morning.

Promise Sibongile Imelda Khumalo passed away on the 21st of November at the age of 63 at her home.

In a statement released by the Gauteng Provincial Government President Cyril Ramaphosa has declared her funeral under Category 2.

"It is with profound gratitude and pride that I announce that my mother, Sibongile Imelda Promise Khumalo, has been granted a Special Official Provincial Funeral - a historic recognition for a female Military Veteran in South Africa," said the broadcaster.

"Today, her contribution is etched into the story of this country with the honour she so deeply deserves," she said.

The late Khumalo is survived by her two children, Modiehi and Masechaba and her five grandsons.
