Johannesburg - Acclaimed chef and lead artist of musical group Mi Casa's J-Something made a poignant acoustic rendition of late Hip Hop rapper Kiernan "AKA" Forbes' award-winning Congratulate hit song.

In a soulful rendition that is authentically heartfelt J-something serenaded his followers on Instagram with an emotive gesture that has garnered support across The Megacy (AKA's supporters) and his mother Lynn Forbes.

"Congratulate by AKA," he said.

"I miss you dude. The lack of your physical presence is so felt to many and to so many others. Thank you for the music and above all the friendship. You're still so alive in so many ways. Long live Supa Mega long live," said the artist.

The tribute dedication has accumulated support across the Hip Hop fraternity including those who were fond of the slain rapper with the likes of Slikour, The Kiernan Forbes Foundation, comedian Mpho Popps and the late rapper's then girlfriend Nadia Nakai being amongst others.

Kiernan "AKA" Forbes was fatally shot alongside his friend Tebello "Tibz" Motsoane at Florida road in Durban in February 2023.

During this year's September's annual Heritage Day celebrations his mother, Lynn Forbes, had visited his burial site accompanied by his then girlfriend Nadia Nakai expressing her ongoing grief and ache over the loss of the superstar.

"Heritage Day today wasn't celebration for me. It was loss. It was the weight of protecting what remains. It was the sacred duty of preserving legacy. Heritage is not only what we inherit, it's what we guard and pass on," she said.
