Johannesburg - Embattled South African music producer Bongani Fassie took to Instagram recently to pay homage to his late mother, Brenda Fassie on what would have been her 61st birthday yesterday.
Brenda Fassie passed away on the 10th of May in 2004.
The former member of the now disbanded Hip Hop group Jozi compiled multiple vintage photos of his late mother and her two young grandchildren from the producer in a carousel post.
"Happy Birthday Ma'Brrr," he said.
"You are that mega superstar, iconic, legendary, earth-shaking, history-bending voice-of-a-generation kind of force, but to me you're simply my mother, and that's the part that mattered most. I love you mama," said the producer.
The iconic Brenda Fassie passed away 21years ago leaving her only son as the sole heir to her estate which has since been under scrutiny over the years due to his alleged drug addiction.
