Johannesburg
- Lynn Forbes, who is AKA's mother, took to social media on heritage day (24 September) to share her on-going grief of mourning her late slain son.

Kiernan "AKA" Forbes was fatally shot alongside his friend Tebello "Tibz" Motsoane at Florida road in Durban in February 2023.

Forbes has since been detailing on social media platforms how the tragic loss of her son has affected her.

"Heritage Day today wasn't celebration for me. It was loss. It was the weight of protecting what remains. It was the sacred duty of preserving legacy. Heritage is not only what we inherit, it's what we guard and pass on," she said.

She had visited the grave of the late star together with reality TV star and Hip Hop rapper Nadia Nakai - who was the slain rapper's girlfriend at the time of his untimely passing.

In an earlier post she wrote about grief being an on-going journey that "doesn't end, it changes shape".

"Grief doesn't end, it changes shape. May we be reminded to hold space for those we've lost and for those still carrying love in the shape of grief," she said.
