Johannesburg - Multiple award-winning songstress Kelly Khumalo has birthed a new body of work produced by Mondli Ngcobo under Universal Music South Africa.
The new album titled "Rebirth" comprises of nine songs which is symbolic of a woman's nine months pregnancy cycle preceding birth.
The soulful songstress took to Instagram recently to announce to "ooMakhelwane" or "Makhi" - an endearment she calls her followers - about the newly eagerly awaited project.
This is Khumalo's 11th studio album.
Khumalo says that the new album is about growth, reflection, resilience and the authenticity of growing from life's trials and coming out braver and stronger.
"Every sound, instrument, narrative and approach is a reflection of growth in this album. It's no longer about trends but the impact and the indestructible legacy. Such only happens when one is brave enough to allow growth that comes through rebirth," she told IOL.
The gospel infused album proves to be more profound to her long standing followers who have witnessed her laundry being aired across social media platforms and gossip pages.
Rebirth dropped on the 7th of November and is available on all major music streaming platforms.
