Johannesburg - South Africa has birthed another new sound hailing all the way from the small rural town of Kariega (Uitenhage) in the Eastern Cape.

Buhle Gayika popularly known by his stage name "Booshle G." has carved a name for himself as an indie-pop artist - before being signed off by global record label Nettwerk - performing on live band tours and has opened up acts for established artists such as Jeremy Loops, Will Linley and Myles Smith amongst other artists.

His sound is getting positive reviews on social media and he has already established a firm fan base for himself  through his fan favourite singles such as Broken Heart, Kumbaya and his initial single Find You There which quickly gained him recognition.

"When you start out, you never really know the full extent of the fruits of the work you put in, so the audience's feedback really tugs at my heart," he told EWN.

The 26-year-old takes inspiration from the likes of Will Linley, Matthew Mole and Neon Dreams to name but a few for his unique sound.

He is set to release his debut album Never Alone during February next year (2026) under the Canadian record label [Nettwerk] as their very first South African artist under their wings.

"It's an incredible honour to join the Nettwerk team. My heart has always been to represent the beauty and wonder of South Africa to the world, and this is an incredible opportunity to do that. I'm extremely grateful for the support I have had and I know that God is going to make a beautiful story out of it all," he told SA Music Magazine.

He described his upcoming debut album as candid experiences that he has gone through.

"This album is about recognising that everything that I've been through is what makes me who I am today. And even more so, the protection and guidance I have from God and those who have gone before, in the spiritual and in the physical, have always been with me from the beginning of time," he said on his official Facebook page.
