Johannesburg - Rihanna is celebrating her 20th anniversary in the entertainment industry.
The Only Girl In The World hitmaker penned a heartfelt tribute to her "most loyal , die-hard fans that don't play with me whatsoever".
"I just wanted to say thank you! Thank you for the greatest 20 years ever! 20 years of the most loyal, die-hard fans that don't play with me whatsoever.
"20 years of hard work and hard working teams around me, 20 years of lessons, 20 years of unforgettable experiences and accomplishments; 20 years of my family being my number one support, and to all the people who said yes to me and gave me a chance before it was 'cool' to," she said.
The Barbados born artist shared the hard sacrifices she had to make in order for her to achieve the massive strides she has made.
"20 years ago I left my country, my culture, my food and my family to embark on a journey that started with the release of my very first body of music," she said.
20 years later she has achieved a feat that is nothing short of hard work and unflinching consistency. Her lucrative make-up line, Fenty Beauty, and her fashion line, Savage x Fenty, has been dominating the cosmetics and fashion industry, respectively, since their inception.
Rihanna boasts nine Grammy awards, two Emmys and eight best-selling albums under her belt.
Her new up-coming album since her last music release - Anti in 2016 - is in the pipeline and is set to be released soon, according to Harper's Bazaar.
"I went through phases of what I wanted to do. I know it's not going to be anything that anybody expects. And it's not going to be commercial or radio digestible. It's going to be where my artistry deserves to be right now. I feel like I've cracked it," she said.
