The four episodes entitled Vulindlela are set to run for four consecutive Saturdays.
The documentary delves into the rise and fall of the mega star who catapulted South African pop music onto the global stage.
Through some rare interviews from friends, family, collaborators, biographers and re-enactments led by seasoned actress Brenda Ngxoli portraying the late star alongside fellow actor Sphamandla Dludlu as music producer Chicco Twala - the documentary will portray the "fearless spirit, the creative partnership that shaped her sound and the empowerment of a generation".
"The story and legacy of Brenda Fassie can never be forgotten. Brenda Fassie is a prime example of chasing your dreams and challenging adversity and crafting your own path to success," said Channel Head of SABC one's Ofentse Thinane in a statement.
The iconic Brenda Fassie passed away 21-years-ago leaving her only son, Bongani, as the sole heir to her estate which has since been under scrutiny over the years due to his alleged drug addiction.
The late star would have turned 61 on the 3rd of November.
