Johannesburg - Media personality Lamiez Holworthy has scooped the Music Game-Changer award at the prestigious Glamour Women of The Year Awards 2025 over the weekend.
The celebratory event took place at Summer Place, Hyde Park, on Saturday with broadcaster Hulisani Ravele as the Master of Ceremonies.
The luxurious event is a "global tribute to women who lead, shape, inspire, and redefine their worlds with courage and brilliance".
The music DJ took to Instagram to show off her accolade - a "one-of-a-kind" sculpture by Emma Jane Halford exclusively created for Glamour magazines.
"God did a thing," she said.
"Fifteen whole years since I was led to this path,15 since God promised that He’d change not only my life but that of my loved ones. 15 since music changed my life and I won a Glamour Women Of The Year Award last night.
"The past few weeks have been hard. It’s been tough but God and my ancestors reminded me of just how blessed I am," said the philanthropic DJ.
She dedicated her win to her mother who taught her the value of self authenticity.
"My mom raised me and made me believe that I was enough. She showed me that I was special, she showed me that I was powerful. So here's to more women like my mom, here's to more women like the ones seated in this room. May we fill up spaces that made us feel like we were not enough," she said in her acceptance speech to much applause.
"Lamiez Holworthy has always had that x-factor that sets her apart. Her sound is electric, and her dedication to upliftment unwavering. Whether behind the decks, on screen, or in her philanthropic work, Lamiez reminds us that music is magic, and that women who own their voice can move nations," said Glamour magazine features editor Thobeka Phanyeko.
